"well i decided to stay a couple of nights more t0o see what les cayes and the surrounding area had to offer, i hate to travel to fast and felt in unfair to judge les cays on two rainy days, luckily the next day was bright and sunny.. a little too sunny as my face and arms are burnt now but especilly my nose which has been burnt to a crisp. In the morning i was talking to an american (i think) missionary who knew this guy who'd rent me his motobike for the day for about 15 us dollars, obviously being in haiti this meant no insurance, licence plates or helmet but that just adds to the adventure, i asked him to fill the tank right up, and then i set off in a easterly direction, my plan was to just head down this road untill my tank reads half full and then just turn back.. i wasn't dissapointed as the ride took me over mountains, through markets and scooted next to the beach. The kids aswell as some locals looked surprised at this 'Blan' coming througfh there small hamlets and was often waved at with a smile, i was pretty gutted when the tank reached halfway, i think i went for about an hour and a half and went just beyond the town of aquiss.. but was the gas went when it did as it limited the amount of sunburn i recieved.

the second day i filled the tank myself, just for the experience at a haiten petrol station and then headed west, with the idea of turning round at the petrols halfway point, this coast which goes down to port salut is beatuful also running through markets, small villages and mountain tops.. after port salut the road becomes untarmaced and pretty rocky, i rested for a bit as the sun was scorching I bought a coke from a roadside vender family and whilst apply alot of factor 50 sunscreen could look back along the coast to see the rain following me on my journey. I turned the bike around and chilled by the beach looking at the haitis' beach culture with old men mending fishing nets and fishermen paddling their wooden canoes coming in from sea. I waited about an hour before the rain arrived, and then i headed off whilst it was chucking it down, i f***ing freezing but was enjoying myself with the challenge of keeping upright on the slippery road. My shorts and underwear was soaked through before i'd even got a couple of hundred meters down the road, the rain did finally let up when i reached my guesthouse but was too cold and wet to venture out again so jumped into bed to warm up.."
